"Intet nytt under solen", Bach er og har vært inspirasjonskilde for svært mange skapende mennesker - uavhengig av kunstform og sjanger. Albert Schweitzer mente alt fører til Bach, i forståelsen at Bach var et vendepunkt som alt pekte frem mot før, og alt i ettertid pekte tilbake til.
Alfredo Bernardini er en av Europas fremste barokkspesialister. Han har spilt med de mest anerkjente tidligmusikkgruppene, som Hesperion XX, Le Concert des Nations, La Petite Bande, Freiburger Barockorchester, The English Concert, Bach Collegium Japan og Amsterdam barokkorkester, også som spillende leder for flere av disse gruppene. Bernardini er grunnlegger av ensemblet Zefiro, som han har turnert med i store deler av verden. Fra og med høsten 2015 er Bernardini ansatt som professor ved den nystartede tidligmusikkavdelingen ved Mozarteum i Salzburg.

His incredibly lively and sonorous performing has made the Roman Alfredo Bernardini the leading baroque oboist of our time. As a soloist and conductor, he appears worldwide with top ensembles such as Hespèrion XXI or the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. His own ensemble Zefiro is also a celebrated public favourite at the Styriarte festival.
